Founder of JML Business Services

Jo Fife set up JML Business Services in 1993 to provide accounting, bookkeeping, taxation and business management support to the SME community.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has over 25 years of commercial experience.

Naveed Mughal

Director of JML Business Services

Naveed Mughal is a qualified accountant with a Master’s degree from Cardiff University.

He founded his own accounting firm in 2018, which now has offices in the UK, Dubai, and Pakistan.

In his leisure time, Naveed enjoys travelling, football, and cricket. He is also committed to giving back, volunteering with an international disaster relief charity.

In 2020, he was recognised as one of the “Top 10 UK Digital Accountants.”

Payroll and Admin Manager at JML

With 25 years of experience in payroll management and office administration, I specialise in guiding clients through complex payroll queries with precision and care. My extensive expertise ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and seamless office operations.  Whether navigating intricate payroll challenges or overseeing daily office affairs, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a proactive approach to support my clients’ success.
When I am not working I enjoy walks with my Pomeranians and the occasional West End musical.

Melanie Griffiths

Group Finance and Operations

Melanie Griffiths is an experienced finance and operations manager, responsible for leading the finance team, including overseeing credit control.
Before joining, she worked at a successful IT company and a venture capital-backed firm, managing finances, payroll, and operations. Melanie brings a wealth of experience in mergers, due diligence projects, and digital transformation initiatives, where she collaborates with clients and partners to maintain and manage digital records effectively.

Jason Malik

Client Care and Success

Jason Malik, Head of Client Care and Success, has a background in working with large accounting firms, focusing on integration and practice management. He brings extensive experience with software tools like Pixie, Senta, Salesforce, and Mailchimp.

Jason also manages compliance and regulatory matters, including AML checks and KYC processes. In addition, he plays a key role in fostering strong client relationships and ensuring that customer service targets are consistently achieved.

Travis Cole

Client Relationship Manager

Travis Cole brings a strong background in leadership and over a decade of financial expertise to the JML team. Having spent four years in the military, Travis is well-versed in management and team-leading, qualities that naturally translate into his role heading up JML’s Accounts, Self-Assessment, and MTD ITSA departments.

Throughout his career, Travis has focused heavily on supporting SMEs, with a particular specialism in helping e-commerce businesses scale and grow. Having run his own accounting practice, he possesses first-hand business acumen, and a deep understanding of what business owners truly need. From delivering management accounts and cash flow forecasting to handling payroll, VAT returns, and leading strategic year-end meetings, Travis ensures founders have the clear, actionable insights required to make informed decisions. Travis pairs his deep ACA-level training with his practice under AAT regulations, giving him an exceptional grasp of complex accounting frameworks.

Outside the office, Travis is a keen walker, usually kept busy exploring the outdoors with his Goldador puppy, Luna. He is also a dedicated Manchester United fan, remaining fiercely loyal to his team despite enduring plenty of footballing disappointment in recent years.

Abbie Edwards

Administrative Assistant

Abbie joined JML after spending ten years working as a primary school teacher. During her time working in education, she developed a genuine passion for working with people and building positive relationships, skills which she now brings to her role within the firm.

Her teaching background has given her a wide range of transferable skills, including excellent communication, organisation and time management. These skills play an important role in her work at JML, from forming strong relationships with clients and ensuring that deadlines are met.

Outside of work, Abbie enjoys spending time with her Pomeranian, Basil, who keeps her on her toes! She is also passionate about animal welfare and cares for several rescued reptiles.
